Digital Developer - Central Government

I am recruiting for a Digital Developer to work 1-2 days per week in Exeter, remaining time remote.

The role falls inside IR35 so you will be required to work through an umbrella company for the duration of the contract.

Candidates must have worked within central government in the last 12 months.

I am looking for a Full Stack Developer to design, build, and maintain modern web applications using Next.js/React on the Front End and Python on the Back End. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across the full application stack.

Experience with Next.js, React, TypeScript, Search Indexes, Python, and FastAPI/Flask; familiarity with REST APIs, Elastic, Git, automated testing, and modern deployment workflows.

Experience with cloud platforms, Docker, Github Action based CI/CD pipelines or authentication and authorisation patterns is desirable.

Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role is essential.

Strong knowledge of Front End technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React, Next.js.

Strong knowledge of Back End technologies: Python, Node.js, Next.js.

Familiarity with databases and Search Indexes: Elasticsearch and SQL-like databases.
