About Aurora Solar

Aurora is on a mission to create a future of solar for all. Our award-winning software puts the power of data and technology into the hands of every solar professional to make solar adoption simple and predictable. Our software has designed millions of solar projects so far, empowering solar companies to sell, design, and install residential and commercial solar arrays accurately, seamlessly, and at scale.

We’ve been named one of "The Best Remote Companies" by BuiltIn.com and have been recognized for the second time as a Certified Green Business (CGB) with the city of San Francisco. We’re in this together to support the world’s transition to solar.

About the Team

Our FP&A team drives some of Aurora's most important work — the budgeting, forecasting, and financial analyses that shape the financial future and strategic direction of the business. We're a small, high-performing team that owns the company's annual and quarterly financial planning cycles end-to-end, partners with leaders across the company, and pushes past reporting the numbers to actually driving action from them. We operate with direct exposure to the VP of Finance and CEO.

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated FP&A Manager who is passionate about driving the business forward through actionable insights. In this highly visible role, you’ll act as a strategic partner to our Leaders and cross-function stakeholders across the company. This role will drive operating efficiency for both the finance function and the company as a whole, play a critical role in executing the annual budgeting and recurring forecasting processes, perform ad-hoc analysis to uncover opportunities, and have ownership over our financial planning platform (Pigment).

Your Impact

  • Partner with and support strategic discussions with cross-functional stakeholders – help influence effective decision-making by providing valuable insights and building trust

  • Own end-to-end monthly, quarterly, and annual FP&A processes (e.g., budgeting/forecasting, Board reporting, BvA’s) for your areas of focus

  • Own the administration and continued evolution of Pigment, our financial planning platform – from data model design and system integrations to building new forecast models and streamlining the ones already in place

  • Collaborate with Finance peers to track performance metrics and KPIs to monitor business results and to drive stakeholder engagement and accountability

  • Simplify, streamline, and automate FP&A processes, as well as make full use of forecasting and financial system capabilities that will allow us to continue to scale rapidly and globally

  • Highlight strategic opportunities to improve the way we operate, increase revenue, or decrease costs

What You Bring

  • Strong financial modeling – experience building and maintaining driver-based models

  • Experience owning a financial planning tool

  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels throughout the company

  • Ability to translate model output into compelling narrative summaries for leadership and the Board of Directors

  • Ability to prioritize objectives in a fast-paced, high performing environment

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets

  • Attention to detail and accuracy, coupled with the ability to follow-through

  • Demonstrated knowledge of SaaS business models

  • Strong understanding of financial statements and GAAP

Nice to Haves

  • Direct experience as a Pigment admin

  • Experience with usage-based or consumption metrics and modeling
