QA Automation Engineer

Job Summary The QA Automation Engineer will serve as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) within a cross-functional Agile environment, driving quality engineering practices and test automation excellence. The role requires strong banking domain expertise, particularly in commercial loan systems and the complete end-to-end loan lifecycle. The SDET will own test strategy, planning, framework implementation, and execution while developing scalable automation solutions across web, API, database, data extraction, and mobile applications where applicable. The role also requires strong collaboration, independent problem-solving, technical communication, and continuous improvement to ensure high-quality products and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities Work as part of an Agile squad, chapter, and tribe while leading quality engineering efforts and collaborating across teams. Take ownership of test strategy, test planning, automation framework implementation, and test execution. Design and develop new test automation frameworks using a variety of automation tools. Develop reusable framework components and maintain clean, structured, cohesive, and maintainable automation code. Apply software design principles and innovative testing approaches to complex software solutions.

Design and implement automated and exploratory tests for new features and functional changes. Create repeatable test suites for browser-based applications, native mobile applications where applicable, and UI and API layers. Drive automation initiatives for API/web services testing, Web UI testing, data extraction scripts, database testing, and test data management based on business needs. Author comprehensive test cases in test management tools and ensure adequate test coverage. Perform functional, API, regression, integration, and exploratory testing.

Efficiently reproduce reported software issues, analyze data, identify root causes, and collaborate with team members to resolve defects. Maintain existing automation code and continuously improve testing frameworks, tools, and processes. Leverage AI capabilities such as self-healing locators and AI-assisted failure analysis where applicable, including solutions using Katalon and WebdriverIO. Collaborate with product, development, QA, and other stakeholders to define customer and product requirements and align them with product and test code.

Communicate testing risks, concerns, ideas, and solutions clearly while adhering to quality governance standards and procedures. Required Qualifications Strong hands-on experience with QA automation and software testing. Strong banking domain expertise with commercial loan systems and the end-to-end commercial loan lifecycle. Experience with customer onboarding and loan origination systems. Experience with loan funding and boarding across servicing platforms. Experience with payments, move-money processes, and deposit integrations.

Experience with comprehensive loan servicing and lifecycle management. Experience with collateral management. Experience with loan participation and syndication. Strong knowledge of functional, API, regression, and integration testing methodologies. Experience developing comprehensive and effective test cases. Strong defect identification, logging, tracking, and troubleshooting skills. Experience working within Agile development processes. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with technical teams, developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders. Ability to work independently, demonstrate ownership, and proactively identify and resolve challenges. Proven ability to use automation tools and frameworks to improve testing efficiency, quality, coverage, and scalability.

Preferred Qualifications Experience with AI-assisted testing capabilities, including self-healing locators and AI-based failure analysis. Experience with Katalon and/or WebdriverIO.
