About The Project
EPAM is the managed services partner for one of our major Life Sciences client''s global Commercial Data Platform (CDP) — a Snowflake-on-AWS enterprise data warehouse spanning five production regions (US, Europe, Japan, LatAm, APAC) and serving 50+ commercial data domains across the organisation. The platform powers data products for Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Patient programs, and Analytics teams, and is in active expansion with Cortex AI, Snowflake Intelligence, and next-generation pipeline capabilities rolling out across regions.
You will be embedded in the client''s Princeton office as the senior technical presence bridging the platform engineering team and the Commercial Business — acting as team lead, trusted technical advisor, and innovation driver simultaneously.
Description
We are looking for a client-embedded Solution Architect for this strategic, long-term data platform engagement. You will design and evolve a large-scale multi-tenant data platform, drive direct communications with commercial business stakeholders, and lead the implementation and continuous improvement of platform capabilities — from establishing requirements and architectural decisions through to go-live and ongoing operations.
This is a hands-on role. You will write SQL, design schemas, build proofs of concept, and get into the platform alongside the engineering team. You will also be the primary technical face to the business — translating commercial use cases into platform requirements, and platform capabilities into actionable guidance for domain teams.

Responsibilities
Platform Leadership
Design and evolve the CDP data platform architecture, maintaining alignment with enterprise standards across security, governance, performance, and scalability
Lead platform architecture evaluation and assessment activities; provide justification for all architectural decisions through formal documentation presented to both the client and the implementation team
Act as the day-to-day technical lead for the CDP platform team, coordinating engineering activities and aligning with the the client Platform Owner
Co-Own the platform architectural backlog — prioritising, scoping, and sequencing platform enhancements, regional feature rollouts, and operational improvements
Establish and maintain engineering standards across the team: source control, infrastructure-as-code patterns for domain onboarding, credential management, and operational tooling
Business Stakeholder Interface
Drive direct communications with commercial business stakeholders; serve as the primary technical point of contact for Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, HCP Analytics, and Patient program teams seeking to deploy solutions on the platform
Elaborate on all technical aspects for domain teams; guide them through the full lifecycle from initial use case scoping through to production deployment on the platform
Create and present solution architecture documentation with appropriate technical depth for both customer leadership and implementation teams
Translate business requirements into platform architecture decisions, and communicate platform constraints and capabilities back to business stakeholders in accessible language
Innovation & Continuous Research
Continuously research emerging Snowflake and cloud data platform capabilities; lead Proof of Concept work evaluating fit for the client''s commercial use cases
Run enablement workshops and upskilling programs for domain teams, with particular focus on AI/ML and Snowflake Cortex capabilities (Cortex AI, Cortex Analyst, Cortex Search, Snowflake Intelligence, Anomaly Detection)
Identify and prototype practical applications of platform AI features for pharma commercial workflows — field force analytics, HCP segmentation, KPI commentary generation, DQ automation, and similar
Participate in company-level knowledge sharing initiatives, PoCs, and training programs
Pre-Sales & Engagement Growth
Participate in the full cycle of pre-sale and account expansion activities related to the CDP platform
Lead solution architecture evaluation activities that support scope extensions and new workstream proposals
Requirements
Architecture & Systems Design
Demonstrated experience in requirements engineering, solution architecture, systems development, deployment, and maintenance at enterprise scale
Knowledge of architecture and design patterns across at least 3 technology domains (Data Platforms, ML/AI, Backend, Cloud Infrastructure, Integration, etc.)
Profound hands-on knowledge of the internals of at least one domain — in this engagement, Snowflake and cloud data warehouse architecture
Solid understanding of core concepts in data and analytics platform architecture: data warehousing, medallion/layered data architecture, business intelligence, data management, integration, security, and platform operations
Wide experience designing, implementing, deploying, troubleshooting, and replatforming distributed systems in the cloud
Structured and systematic approach to the full architecture design process — requirements, quality attributes, technology selection, estimation, proposal verification, and documentation
Data Platform — Technical
Hands-on Snowflake expertise: RBAC design, performance tuning, Snowpipe/Streams/Tasks, data sharing, network policies, Cortex AI features
AWS data platform experience (S3, IAM, PrivateLink or equivalent)
Practical understanding of enterprise identity and access management at scale (SSO/SAML, SCIM, OAuth 2.0, key pair authentication)
Experience designing and implementing multi-tenant RBAC models for shared data platforms
Familiarity with dbt, Databricks/Iceberg, or comparable transformation and lakehouse tooling
Data governance and compliance awareness — data classification, masking, row-level security, audit trails, regulated data environments
Domain & Soft Skills
Experience working in or directly with pharma commercial organisations (Sales Operations, Marketing Analytics, Medical Affairs, HCP/patient programs, or similar)
Proven track record in client-facing or embedded consulting roles — able to navigate complex enterprise stakeholder landscapes
Experience in all phases of the software development lifecycle using different development methodologies and best practices
Ability to lead implementation from requirements through go-live, and manage competing priorities across platform operations, project delivery, and innovation work
Highly organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable producing both high-level and deep-technical architecture documentation
Strong communication skills; fluent English
Nice to Have
Snowflake certification (SnowPro Core, Advanced Architect, or Data Engineer)
Experience with Snowflake Openflow, Snowflake Intelligence, or native Cortex AI application development
Experience with enterprise provisioning at scale
