Job Description

We're looking for a part-time QA engineer to build and maintain automated test suites for our app and website, and help manually test new features before release.

What you'll do:

  • Build and maintain automated end-to-end tests for web and mobile that run before every release
  • Manually test new features, document bugs, and verify fixes
  • Set up and maintain CI/CD test pipelines so automated tests run automatically on new builds
  • Write invariant/property-based tests for our workout and routine generation engines (LP/MILP optimizers) validating outputs against constraints, not fixed expected values
  • Cover subscription and billing flows end-to-end (Paddle, trials, webhooks, currency edge cases)
  • Cover our multi-locale matrix including RTL languages, layout, translations, locale-aware caching
  • Guard URL redirect and routing rules (legacy paths, canonicalization) with regression test, these break silently
  • Test auth flows across email/password and social sign-in (session refresh, expiry, account linking)
  • Wire performance budgets (Core Web Vitals) into CI so perf regressions block releases
  • Work with the engineering team to identify what needs test coverage and prioritize accordingly
  • Build test scripts for mobile app's feature

What we're looking for:

  • Experience with modern test automation tools (Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium for web; Appium or Detox for mobile)
  • Comfortable writing test scripts in JavaScript/TypeScript or Python
  • Familiarity with Django's test runner and factory-boy (a plus), our backend is Django + DRF, tests run inside Docker
  • Experience testing modern SSR frameworks (server/client component boundaries, hydration)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions or similar
  • Good eye for edge cases and a methodical approach to breaking things
  • Strong communication you'll need to write clear bug reports and work async with a small team
  • Experience with automation tools for mobile like mobile.dev or similar, we need automation on testing for every feature that we have, and will have.

This is a part-time, remote-friendly role. Hours are flexible but you should be available to run test passes before scheduled releases.
