Are you a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer looking for a role where your expertise genuinely makes a difference?
We're recruiting for a Shift Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing business investing in its people, equipment and continuous improvement. This isn't a role where you'll simply respond to breakdownsyou'll be trusted to improve reliability, reduce downtime and help drive engineering standards across the site.

What You'll Be DoingAs part of an experienced engineering team, you'll be responsible for ensuring production equipment operates safely, efficiently and reliably.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across manufacturing equipment
- Responding quickly to electrical and mechanical breakdowns
- Diagnosing faults using a structured approach to minimise downtime
- Driving improvements to equipment reliability and plant performance
- Completing root cause analysis and implementing permanent corrective actions
- Supporting continuous improvement projects across the site
- Working closely with production teams to maximise operational efficiency
- Updating maintenance records accurately through the CMMS system
- Maintaining high standards of health & safety, food safety and engineering compliance
- Supporting engineering projects, installations and contractor activities
- Delivering clear and effective shift handovers
We're keen to speak with engineers who enjoy working in a fast-moving manufacturing environment and take pride in keeping production running.
Ideally you'll have:
- A recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
- HNC in Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Multi-Skilled Maintenance experience with an electrical bias
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding abilities
- Previous experience within manufacturing, production or FMCG
- Experience working with preventative maintenance systems (CMMS)
- A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
- The confidence to work independently while supporting the wider engineering team
Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:
- Food manufacturing or FMCG
- PLC fault finding
- GMP and HACCP
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Site services, utilities or plant engineering
- Continuous Improvement methodologies such as Lean or TPM
- £53,346 per annum (inclusive of shift allowance)
- Performance bonus of up to 5%
