The Opportunity

As an AI Engineer,you'lldesign, build, deploy and optimise AI solutions using Large Language Models (LLMs), agentic frameworks, retrieval augmented generation (RAG)patternsand cloud-based machine learning platforms.You'llwork across the full solution lifecycle, from understanding business challenges through to production deployment and ongoing optimisation.

Working closely with stakeholders across the business,you'lltranslate complex problems into practical AI solutions that are scalable, secure, reliable andcustomer-focused.

Examples of the work you could be involved in include:

Building AI-powered assistants that help members better understand and use their cover.

Developing intelligent solutions that support customer journeys, such as helping members find healthcare providers.

Designing and deploying AI applications that improve operational efficiency and business decision-making.

Exploring emerging AI technologies andidentifyingnew opportunities to create value across Medibank.

What You'll Be Doing

Designing and building AI solutions leveraging LLMs, agentic AI frameworks, RAGarchitecturesand cloud services.

Developing robust, maintainable Python code for AI applications,experimentationand production environments.

Supporting the development and optimisation of machine learning and predictive models.

ApplyingMLOpspractices to ensure solutions are reliable,scalableand cost effective.

Monitoring and improving model performance, quality,usageand operational outcomes.

Collaborating with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into practical solutions.

Contributing to the adoption and advancement of AI capabilities across Medibank.

About You

You'renaturally curious and passionate about AI, with a desire to stay at the forefront of emerging technologies. You enjoy solving complex problems, experimenting withnew approaches, and working collaboratively to deliver meaningful outcomes.

You'll bring:

Strong Python engineering and software development experience.

Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs), agentic AI frameworks such asLangChain, and RAG-based solutions.

Experience in machine learning, data science,MLOpsor a related field.

Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS,Azureor Google Cloud.

Strong communicationskills and confidence engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
