Job Description

Site Safety Advisor – Electrical Construction

Liberty Hill, TX
6-Month Contract-to-Hire | $35–$40/hr + OT
50–55 Hours/Week | Monday–Friday + Saturdays as Needed

Confidential Opportunity

A growing electrical construction organization is seeking a Site Safety Advisor to provide hands-on safety oversight for an active electrical construction project in the Liberty Hill area.

This is a field-based safety position supporting electrical construction activities involving medium- and high-voltage equipment. The initial assignment will support a large energy infrastructure project involving electrical installation, equipment work, cable routing, terminations, commissioning, and startup.

The right candidate will be comfortable spending the majority of their time in the field, working directly with construction crews and project leadership to identify hazards, enforce safe work practices, and keep the project compliant.

Non-Negotiable Qualifications

Candidates must have ALL THREE:

  1. OSHA 30 certification
  2. Current BCSP certification, such as:
    • CSP
    • ASP
    • OHST
    • CHST
    • STS
    • STSC
    • CIT
  3. 2+ years of professional safety experience on electrical construction sites involving medium- and/or high-voltage equipment

Candidates missing any of these three requirements should not be considered.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide daily safety presence and oversight throughout the active construction site.
  • Conduct field inspections and identify potential hazards before they result in incidents.
  • Work directly with crews and supervisors to correct unsafe conditions and behaviors.
  • Lead or support JSA/JHA development, toolbox talks, and safety meetings.
  • Monitor compliance with electrical safety procedures, PPE requirements, LOTO, and site-specific safety policies.
  • Document observations, corrective actions, incidents, and other safety activities.
  • Participate in incident investigations and help determine appropriate corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with project management, field supervision, contractors, and client representatives on safety matters.
  • Support safe execution of electrical installation, equipment handling, cable/raceway work, terminations, commissioning, and startup activities.

Experience That Will Set You Apart

The following experience is highly desirable:

  • Electrical substations
  • Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
  • Switchgear
  • Electrical distribution systems
  • Medium- or high-voltage construction
  • Safety Management Systems (SMS)
  • Large-scale electrical infrastructure projects

BESS experience is particularly relevant to the initial project, but candidates with strong electrical construction safety experience in other medium/high-voltage environments may also be a fit.

Contract & Compensation

  • Initial contract: Approximately 6 months
  • Pay: $35–$40/hour, with flexibility for highly qualified candidates
  • Overtime: 1.5x
  • Typical schedule: 50–55 hours per week
  • Workweek: Monday–Friday, with Saturdays as project demands require
  • Per diem: $175/day when applicable
  • Potential conversion: Approximately $40–$43/hour, potentially higher depending on experience

Long-Term Opportunity

The initial assignment is tied to a specific electrical infrastructure project, but the organization has ongoing work across Texas and the Gulf Coast region. Successful candidates may have opportunities to support additional projects following completion of the initial assignment.

Ideal Candidate

This role is best suited for a field-oriented safety professional who understands electrical construction, rather than someone whose experience is primarily in general industrial or office-based safety.

You should be comfortable working around energized electrical infrastructure, communicating directly with craft personnel, identifying hazards in real time, and holding the field team accountable to safe work practices.
