GIS Governance Coordinator

Introduction

The GIS Governance Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the data management and governance processes within the enterprise GIS environment. This role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality, metadata management, and adherence to governance policies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage GIS projects related to data governance, including stewardship, lifecycle management, and metadata.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement governance policies and procedures.
  • Analyze workflows and processes to identify areas for improvement and efficiency.
  • Document governance processes and procedures for reference and training purposes.
  • Conduct geospatial analysis to support decision-making and data management activities.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity within the geodatabases and GIS systems.
  • Coordinate with IT teams to implement and maintain GIS technologies, such as Esri tools and spatial data services.
  • Communicate technical findings and governance documents to non-technical audiences.
  • Support the development of skill frameworks and competency models for technical disciplines.
