Job Description

Lead Firewall Engineer | Fort Belvoir, VA | On-site | $131,300.00 - $237,350.00 We're hiring on behalf of a leading technology and defense contractor known for its innovative solutions and commitment to national security. The Role • Design, implement, and manage complex firewall solutions, including Cisco ASA/Firepower, Juniper SRX, and Palo Alto. • Monitor firewall performance and security logs to identify and mitigate potential threats. • Develop and enforce network security policies and procedures. • Perform system audits to ensure compliance with standards and regulations. • Serve as a People Leader for personnel supporting the Firewall Task Area, providing guidance, performance assessments, and strategic direction. • Troubleshoot and resolve network and firewall-related issues, documenting solutions within ticket systems. What You'll Need • BS degree in a relevant field and 12+ years of directly relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Active DoD Top Secret security clearance, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI. • DoD 8570 IAT II or higher certification prior to start. • Juniper, Cisco, or Palo Alto certification prior to start. • Demonstrated experience in managing a Firewall Team within the DoD environment. • Advanced experience in evaluating firewall rules for optimal security and minimal redundancy.
