Role : Databrick Governance Engineer

Location: Reston, VA

 

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

Support Databricks onboarding, data exchange, and interface governance activities, including documentation of data products, consumers, access patterns, and integration dependencies.

Work with data governance, application, and platform teams to ensure interface configurations are accurate, complete, and aligned with enterprise data standard and policy.

Analyze existing interface inventory and identify gaps, inconsistencies, retired interfaces, outdated consumer contracts, or missing metadata.

Support cleanup and modernization efforts related to legacy AWS, S3, ICR, CMDB, and Databricks integration records.

Create and maintain requirements documents, process flows, user stories, data mapping documents, control evidence, and operational procedures.

Coordinate with product owners, engineers, architects, audit, and risk teams to clarify requirements and resolve open issues.

Participate in meetings with stakeholders and provide clear status updates, risks, dependencies, and recommended next steps.

 

Required Qualifications

Experience as a System Analyst, Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role.

Working knowledge/SME of Databricks, data lakes, cloud storage, and data pipeline concepts.

Hands-on experience with data platforms, cloud data exchange, interface management, or metadata management.

Strong understanding of data integration patterns such as APIs, SFTP, S3, batch files, event-driven flows, and data sharing mechanisms.

Strong documentation skills, including business requirements, functional requirements, process flows, and control documentation.

Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Strong attention to detail and ability to identify data quality or metadata inconsistencies.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with AWS S3, Databricks Unity Catalog, data lineage, data governance, or access management.

Experience with Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting tools.

Experience supporting cloud modernization, platform migration, or interface cleanup initiatives.
