Title: Senior DevOps Engineer

Location: Remote

Must reside within the DC, Maryland, Virginia / DMV area for monthly in-office events and in-person final interview.

Terms of Employment:

W2 Contract-to-Hire, 12 Months

Overview & Responsibilities:

Join a leading organization in the healthcare sector as a Senior Systems Engineer and play a pivotal role in a major technology transformation. Our team is responsible for the AWS cloud platform and DevOps practices, and we are in the midst of migrating our core infrastructure to AWS EKS while exploring cutting-edge Gen AI solutions. We are seeking a proactive and skilled engineer to help us build, automate, and maintain the next generation of our cloud platform. You will

Install, tune, upgrade, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.

Write and maintain automation scripts to streamline operations using Python, Groovy, AWS CloudFormation, and Bash.

Manage, monitor, and support containerized application environments on AWS, with a primary focus on Kubernetes (EKS).Collaborate with application development and testing teams to enhance system performance, scale, and reliability, including building Proof-of-Concepts (POCs) for new services.

Perform application release deployments and represent the team on Change Advisory Board (CAB) calls.

Participate in a rotational schedule for remote weekend and after-hours support for planned deployments and maintenance activities.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in an IT field or 5+ years of equivalent work experience.

3+ years of experience in DevOps or Cloud Systems Engineering with a deep understanding of AWS.

Extensive hands-on experience with Kubernetes (AWS EKS is a must) and container technologies like Docker or Podman.

Proven expertise in building and managing CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins.

Strong scripting skills in Python, Groovy, and/or Bash.

Experience supporting containerized Java web applications (Spring Boot).

Must be located in the MD, DC, VA, or WV area and be authorized to work on a contract-to-hire basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience migrating Kubernetes platforms from an on-premise environment (e.g., VMware) to AWS EKS.

Professional experience in the healthcare industry and familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards.

Background in system design or architecture for cloud-native applications.

Exposure to Gen AI use cases or AWS services like SageMaker and Bedrock.
