Location: Woodbridge, VA
Contract: W2 only, 6-month contract with potential for extension or conversion to full time with the client.
Pay: $ 70-80/hour + optional medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match

Overview
Our Client is seeking a techno-functional Technology Project Manager with experience managing software implementations and upgrades, as well as IT infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will lead complex, multi-disciplinary IT and IM projects, facilitating requirements gathering, managing project scope, schedule, budget, risks, resources, vendors, and communications. This role serves as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring solutions align with organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage software implementation, upgrade, enhancement, and IT infrastructure projects from initiation through completion.
  • Serve as a techno-functional liaison between business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and leadership.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering, business process discussions, solution planning, and documentation with internal stakeholders.
  • Vendor management.
  • Cultivate collaborative relationships among project stakeholders.
  • Develop project plans and schedules with well-defined milestones and present project plans to senior leadership for comment and approval.
  • Manage communication of project status within the project team and external to the project team, including vendors and stakeholders; escalate issues as necessary.
  • Assess project quality and value through monitoring of incoming deliverables in comparison to Prince William Water''s business requirements and technical requirements.
  • Develop tools and processes to improve project value and project delivery.
  • Identify and manage changes to scope, schedule, budget, resources, and project requirements.
  • Manage project progress and report performance to senior leaders.
  • Identify and manage project risks, define opportunities for improvement, and work with the project team and senior leaders to establish remediations.
  • Manage project governance and control processes to enable effective escalation and decision-making.
  • Coordinate project activities across applications, infrastructure, data, cybersecurity, and other IT teams as applicable.
  • Work with senior leaders to support annual planning activities such as project identification, prioritization, and planning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of principles, concepts, and practices of project management and the use of information technology; rules and regulations related to assignment; modern office procedures and practices; computer equipment and software applications related to assignment; business mathematics; and English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Proven experience managing software implementations, upgrades, and technology transformation projects.
  • Experience managing IT infrastructure projects, including coordination with technical infrastructure teams and vendors.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a techno-functional role, bridging business requirements and technical solutions.
  • Experience leading Project Management Information System acquisition planning and deployment.
  • Strong project and program management skills demonstrated through relevant professional experience.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills with a focus on collaboration, team building, and customer service.
  • Effectiveness in working diplomatically across teams with varying objectives.
  • Demonstrated use of Microsoft Office software tools, including project management applications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to understand technical concepts and communicate technical information effectively to non-technical stakeholders.

Required Education

  • Bachelor''s degree in computer science, information technology, business administration, or a related field.
  • At least three years of experience as a project manager within the field of Information Technology and/or Information Management, including experience managing software implementations, software upgrades, and/or IT infrastructure projects.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with enterprise software solutions, data platforms, or technology infrastructure projects is preferred.
