Senior Product Data Scientist / Product Data Analyst

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a growing product analytics function within a highly digital consumer business. You'll play a key role in shaping how product decisions are made, building analytical capability, driving experimentation, and delivering insights that influence product strategy from day one.

As their analytics capability continues to evolve, they are investing in product analytics to better understand customer behaviour and unlock new opportunities for growth. This contract role offers significant ownership and visibility across product, engineering, and business teams.

The Role and Deliverables

• Partner with Product and business stakeholders to identify user behaviour trends, customer pain points, and product opportunities through quantitative analysis.
• Design, support, and evaluate experiments and A/B tests to measure product performance and impact.
• Deliver deep-dive analysis and actionable recommendations that support strategic product initiatives.
• Work closely with Engineering teams to establish and maintain reliable data foundations.
• Build and maintain self-service dashboards that enable data-informed decision making across the organisation.
• Take ownership of the product analytics function, driving best practice and helping shape the future direction of analytics within the business.

Your Skills & Experience

• Strong experience applying product analytics within a digital, consumer-facing environment.
• Proven ability to work in fast-paced businesses and operate autonomously with minimal oversight.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience using Python or R for analytical work.
• Hands-on experience designing, running, and analysing experiments, including A/B testing.
• Experience working with dbt or similar data transformation tools.
• Experience with data visualisation platforms, ideally Light-dash or comparable BI tools.
• Ability to translate complex business questions into structured analytical approaches and actionable insights.
• Strong stakeholder management and data storytelling skills, with the confidence to present findings to senior audiences.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a proactive, self-starting approach.
• Experience with Data bricks and statistical techniques such as bootstrapping would be beneficial.
• Previous experience within retail, ecommerce, marketplace, or similar digital businesses is highly desirable.
