Job Description

We are seeking a Network / System Engineer III to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in NonStop platform support, UNIX/Linux production operations, and messaging middleware and a proven ability to design and optimize resilient, low-latency, high-throughput messaging architectures and automate repeatable operational processes.

Responsibilities:

• Provide operational and engineering support for messaging middleware across multi-datacenter, multi-tier environments.


• Act as a liaison between Production and Development teams to define, automate, and maintain support processes for data validation, entitlements integration, and upgrades.


• Diagnose and resolve issues in large-scale environments, including on-call participation and urgent incident triage.


• Contribute to the design and optimization of resilient messaging architectures for low latency and high throughput.


• Develop software solutions to eliminate manual work and improve inefficient processes using scripting and programming languages.


• Ensure solutions align with reference models, blueprints, playbooks, and enterprise standards and policies.


• Assist in translating business requirements into technical definitions and deployment artifacts.


• Coordinate with application and infrastructure teams during releases and implement assigned tasks.


• Track and manage vendor support tickets and collaborate to drive resolution.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 2-4 years of experience in UNIX/Linux production environments supporting hundreds of hosts.


• Minimum 4 years of programming in Perl, Python, Bash, or C-derivatives (C++, Java).


• 2-4 years of experience with data structures and databases (SQL and NoSQL).


• Strong knowledge of networking protocols: TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, SSH, SFTP.


• Experience troubleshooting production applications and participating in on-call rotations.


• Proficiency with Linux and Windows operating systems and general information security concepts.


• Automation experience with Ansible and source control/work management tools such as Git, Bitbucket, Jira, and Wiki.


• Excellent written and oral communication with strong documentation skills in MS Office, Visio, and Project.


• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Preferred Skills:

• NonStop technical support: OS, coldloads, Safeguard, TAL, FUP, PUP, SCF, backups, Expand, Xypro (XAM, XAC, Compliance Pro).


• HSM support with Utimaco and Futurex.


• Basic knowledge of middleware such as AMPS, MQ, and Kafka, and platform OS fundamentals for Windows and Unix.


• Programming experience with web and backend interfaces and support for authentication methods like Kerberos and SiteMinder.


• Familiarity with Copilot and Java for troubleshooting and solution development.
