Network Automation Engineer

We're currently working with a specialist network engineering consultancy that is looking to hire a Network Automation Engineer to join its growing engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong networking background who has moved into automation and wants to work on complex enterprise infrastructure projects. The business delivers project work across enterprise networking, data centre and cloud environments, with a real focus on automation, modern infrastructure and customer delivery. The Role You'll be responsible for helping automate network deployments, standardise infrastructure and improve operational efficiency across enterprise customer environments. Working alongside experienced network consultants and architects, you'll play a key role in delivering automation solutions that reduce manual configuration and improve consistency across customer estates. Responsibilities • Develop and maintain network automation solutions using Python<br />• Automate network configuration and deployment using Ansible<br />• Work alongside Network Consultants on enterprise projects<br />• Build and improve infrastructure automation workflows<br />• Support enterprise networking and infrastructure transformation projects<br />• Produce reusable automation scripts and playbooks<br />• Work across customer environments to improve operational efficiency<br />• Collaborate with technical teams on project delivery and innovation What They're Looking For • Strong enterprise networking background<br />• Commercial Python experience<br />• Hands-on Ansible experience<br />• Routing and switching knowledge<br />• Experience automating network infrastructure<br />• Comfortable working in project environments<br />• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills<br />• Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills Desirable Experience • Cisco enterprise networking<br />• Network APIs and REST APIs<br />• Git or version control systems<br />• Linux administration<br />• Infrastructure as Code<br />• NetBox<br />• Terraform<br />• Data centre networking
