SAP BASIS - Senior Technical Operations Specialist

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP BASIS Technical Specialist to ensure the high availability, stability and performance of SAP environments. The role will focus on critical incident management, outage resolution, operational excellence and continuous process improvement across SAP BASIS, ABAP, Java and Non-NetWeaver environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality support and ensure stable and reliable SAP BASIS operations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve critical SAP incidents, outages and complex technical issues.
• Own and lead Critical Incident and Problem Management, including escalations and resolution coordination.
• Analyse incident and outage trends and develop data-driven improvement plans to enhance customer support.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce outage resolution times.
• Coordinate operational activities, escalations and process improvements across multiple teams.
• Collaborate with ECS, Product Support and other technical teams to deliver projects and operational outcomes.
• Develop and maintain Knowledge Base Articles (KBAs) and support knowledge-sharing initiatives.
• Support management with technical insights and strategic operational improvements.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic and flexible environment.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on expertise in SAP BASIS, including:
  • ABAP systems
  • Java systems
  • Non-NetWeaver applications
• Proven experience troubleshooting complex SAP incidents and critical outages.
• Strong experience in Incident, Problem and Escalation Management.
• Ability to independently own, lead and coordinate operational activities.
• Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems in hosting environments.
• Knowledge of hyper scaler platforms, preferably AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Ability to quickly learn and become an SME in technologies such as:
  • SAP Power Designer
  • SAP Cloud Connector
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
