Small Boat Engineering Technician Instructor | Escondido, CA | On-site | $28.44 - $35.01 per hour We are seeking a skilled instructor for a leading government contractor specializing in advanced technical training and support for naval operations. This role is critical in ensuring the readiness of personnel operating and maintaining complex small craft systems. The Role • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on small craft and shipboard propulsion and auxiliary systems. • Operate and control propulsion systems, including casualty response, for small Navy watercraft. • Execute pre-start and post-operation checks for marine propulsion systems. • Deliver classroom and underway laboratory training to military personnel. • Maintain cleanliness and functionality of assigned work areas and craft. • Adhere to the company's safety, ethics, and workplace environment standards. What You'll Need • Six (6) years of experience as a Navy Engineman, Navy Construction Mechanic, or Navy Electrician's Mate, or equivalent civilian experience. • Proficiency in Marine Propulsion, Electrical, Auxiliary, and control systems on small craft. • Ability to perform comprehensive maintenance and training tasks. • Qualified as a Navy Second Class Swimmer or equivalent. • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials (US Citizenship required). • Willingness to work flexible schedules and occasional overtime as needed.
