Senior Casualty Underwriter

Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Senior Underwriter to join their team. As aCasualty Underwriter, you will evaluate, select, and manage liability risks across a range of industry sectors. Success in the role calls for strong analytical skills, market insight, and a consistent focus on underwriting profitability and client service. 

What you''ll do:

• Evaluate, select, and price casualty submissions within your authority and underwriting guidelines. 
• Manage a book of liability risks across multiple industry sectors, monitoring performance and recommending pricing or coverage actions. 
• Negotiate terms and conditions with wholesale brokers, balancing risk selection with commercial goals. 
• Build and maintain productive broker relationships that drive profitable new and renewal business. 
• Ensure all underwritten business complies with internal policies and regulatory requirements. 

What you''ll bring:

• Demonstrated casualty underwriting experience, general liability experience
• Strong analytical and risk-selection skills, with sound pricing judgment. 
• Effective negotiation and broker-relationship management. 
• Bachelor''s degree or equivalent experience; insurance designations such as CPCU or ARM are a plus. 

Salary/Rate: $100,000 – $130,000 (depends on experience level) + benefits.
