Occasional onsite visits 1–2 times during the contract at Madison, WI

Job Summary
The State of Wisconsin is seeking a senior Cloud Architect/DevSecOps Security Architect to serve as a trusted technical advisor to the CISO while leading the implementation of an AI-driven cybersecurity and vulnerability remediation program. This role combines executive-level advisory responsibilities with hands-on cloud architecture, DevSecOps engineering, security automation, and knowledge transfer.
Required Skills
- Proven experience advising CISOs, CIOs, or executive leadership in large enterprise or government environments.
- Strong Cloud Architecture and DevSecOps engineering experience.
- Expertise implementing security controls, vulnerability management (SI-2), remediation workflows, and risk governance.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Google SecOps
- Google Threat Intelligence / VirusTotal
- Mandiant ASM
- Tenable.io
- Microsoft Azure Arc
- GitHub & GitHub Advanced Security
- Ansible Tower
- Gemini Government / Anthropic AI security frameworks
- Experience mentoring engineering teams and driving knowledge transfer.
- Experience building security automation, AI-assisted remediation, and CI/CD security pipelines.
Preferred Skills
- Public sector or government environment experience.
- Experience across Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Splunk.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic technical advisor to the State CISO.
- Lead implementation of the SI-2 Flaw Remediation Standard.
- Build AI-powered security automation and DevSecOps pipelines.
- Integrate enterprise security platforms (Tenable, Mandiant, Azure Arc, Splunk, Google SecOps).
- Develop automated vulnerability remediation, exception management, and governance workflows.
- Mentor internal security teams through a "teach-by-doing" approach.
Work Authorization / Location
- Must be a Wisconsin resident
- Remote with only 1–2 onsite visits during the engagement.
