Position: GIS Specialist

Location: Chicago, IL (On-Site)

Contract: 3+ Months and Extendable  

Client: Chicago Board of Elections

Pay rate $28/hr on W2

Description:

Districts and Boundaries (1 temporary staff member) The Districts and Boundaries Team work primarily with ArcGIS Pro mapping software. The approximate start date for temporary staff members is September 8, 2026, and will work Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Board''s Central Offices.

1. Candidate should have experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software (like ArcGIS or QGIS), or similar applications. CAD or other database-oriented programs is preferred;
2. Must have basic and varied office computer experience, especially with Excel and Adobe Acrobat;
3. Must be comfortable with learning new applications and should be willing to take notes and manage their own learning;
4. Able to plan, organize, and track work;
5. Must have good record keeping skills;
6. Strong customer service skills, with the ability to interact with voters and other public constituents in person and over the phone.
