Apptio Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Apptio Platform Engineer to support the design, build, and implementation of an enterprise Demand Management intake and routing solution within the Apptio (TBM) platform. This role will be part of a dynamic delivery team focused on creating scalable, governed, and auditable intake workflows, data models, and reporting capabilities that enable effective technology demand governance across the enterprise.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical contributor with strong Apptio/TBM Studio expertise, solid data modeling and integration skills, and experience delivering workflow based enterprise solutions using disciplined SDLC and Agile practices.

Key Responsibilities

Platform & Solution Development

• Serve as a hands-on ("hands on keyboard") Apptio technical resource, developing solution components within TBM Studio / Apptio architecture, including data tables, transforms, data models, metrics, and reports.
• Design and implement the end-to-end Demand Management intake workflow within Apptio, including request capture, tollgate routing, validations, approvals/rejections, exception handling, and full lifecycle management (audit trail, archival, retrieval).
• Build and maintain Apptio data tables and transformation pipelines, including ingestion, joins, filters, formulas, mappings, and date partitioning, ensuring repeatable, performant refresh routines.

Data Model & Governance

• Implement and extend the underlying Apptio data model to represent demand objects, routing attributes, stage-gates, and governance outcomes, supporting scalable downstream reporting and analytics.
• Develop and enforce data quality controls and validation guardrails, including standardized fields, mapping rules, reconciliation checks, and exception detection to improve intake consistency and reporting reliability.
