Guidewire BillingCenter Developer

Required Experience

• 5+ years of overall IT/software development experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Guidewire BillingCenter.
• Strong experience with Gosu programming and Guidewire Studio.
• Experience with BillingCenter configuration, customization, and development.
• Strong understanding of P&C insurance billing processes.

Technical Skills

• BillingCenter configuration and customization.
• Gosu programming, classes, enhancements, queries, and exception handling.
• PCF/UI configuration.
• Entities, typelists, data model extensions, and validation rules.
• Business rules, workflows, plugins, and batch processes.
• Billing plans and billing instructions.
• Account and policy billing.
• Invoice generation and invoice management.
• Payments, payment allocation, refunds, adjustments, write-offs, and delinquency/collections.
• Producer/agency billing concepts.

BillingCenter''s current Cloud APIs include functionality around accounts, invoices, payments, payment instruments, billing plans, and related billing operations.

Integration

• Experience integrating BillingCenter with PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, and external applications.
• REST and SOAP web services.
• Guidewire Integration Gateway/API integrations.
• Messaging and message destinations.
• Plugins and batch processes.
• XML, JSON, XSD and API-based integrations.
• Experience troubleshooting integration failures and data synchronization issues.

Database & Programming

• Strong Java/OOP fundamentals.
• SQL and relational database experience.
• Knowledge of Guidewire data model and Gosu queries.
• Experience with XML/JSON.
• Familiarity with application servers and middleware is a plus.

Cloud & DevOps – Preferred

• Guidewire Cloud Platform experience.
• Guidewire Cloud APIs.
• CI/CD pipelines.
• Git/Bitbucket.
• Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools.
• Docker/Kubernetes knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with cloud-based Guidewire implementations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure, and maintain Guidewire BillingCenter applications.
• Translate business and functional requirements into technical solutions.
• Customize BillingCenter entities, typelists, PCFs, workflows, rules, plugins, and business logic.
• Develop and maintain Gosu-based applications and reusable components.
• Implement billing, invoicing, payment, adjustment, refund, write-off, and delinquency functionality.
• Develop integrations between BillingCenter, PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, and third-party applications.
• Develop and consume REST/SOAP APIs and messaging interfaces.
• Participate in unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and production support.
• Analyze defects and resolve configuration, integration, and application issues.
