I. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
The Department of Information Resources (DIR) requires the services of 1 Senior Database Administrator (Database Administrator 3), referred to as Worker, for the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. The candidate will be responsible for advanced database administration tasks, working with Full-stack Java applications on HHSC’s cloud platform (Azure/AWS) within an Agile (Scrum) environment. Tasks include migrating data from Oracle applications to SQL schemas, optimizing database performance, resolving performance bottlenecks, and implementing monitoring solutions for database health and performance metrics.
II. CANDIDATE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

| 8 | Required | Experience with multi-tier system/application development – (SOA, Microservices, 3-Tier applications, for example) |
| 8 | Preferred | Experience with large volume databases, high availability, and disaster recovery infrastructure |
| 6 | Preferred | Experience with Azure |
| 6 | Preferred | Ability to Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into Azure SQL |
| 3 | Preferred | Experience in DevOps technology including CI/CD pipeline and build and deployment tools such as Git |
