Hi,

We are currently hiring for the Sybase and MS-SQL DBA role (Job ID: HBITS-08-14929) with one of our clients in Albany, NY. As a prime vendor to New York State, we support their HBITS (Hourly-Based IT Services) requirements.

Position Details:

• Title: Sybase and MS-SQL DBA
• Duration: 30 Months
• Location: Albany, NY 12227 (3 days onsite per week)
• Interview Mode: Single round, Virtual

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for analysis, design, support, development, and reengineering of database structures in Sybase, SQL Server and DB2.
• Provide performance analysis and tuning, troubleshooting, capacity planning, benchmark design.
• Design methodologies for data synchronization from operational data stores Design methodologies for data synchronization from various operational data stores (Mainframe DB2, Windows SQL Server, Sybase on Solaris, DB2 on AIX and OpenShift) to a z/Linux DB2 data warehouse.
• Planning, interfacing, and usage between z/OS and LUW DB2 application databases, data warehouse, Cognos, Identity Insight, and DataStage.
• Act as liaison between Data Management, business customers, and application development staff to ensure that recommended performance considerations are included in reviews, designs, development, and implementation of applications.
• Create cost-effective and timely solutions to strategic business requirements utilizing database structures, application methodologies, and coding techniques.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 84 months of experience installing and configuring Sybase and SQL Server.
• 84 months of experience monitoring system performance and implementing performance tuning measures for Sybase and SQL Server databases.
• 84 months of experience managing and implementing database maintenance (reorgs, statistics, ensuring the database is running optimally) in a server environment with Sybase and SQL Server databases.
• 84 months of experience documenting system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines for Sybase and SQL Server Databases in a server environment.
• 84 months of experience applying upgrades and security patches to critical operational databases.
• 84 months of experience using Erwin to create and maintain data models.
• 84 months of experience with Tableau or Cognos Analytics.
• 84 months of experience with data migration and conversion in relational databases.
