IAM engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced AWS IAM Engineer with strong expertise in Identity and Access Management (IAM) and AWS cloud services. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of AWS security best practices, IAM architecture, access governance, and automation within cloud environments. This role requires hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure services, scripting, and cloud automation tools while maintaining a security-first mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage AWS IAM policies, roles, users, groups, and permissions.
• Develop and maintain secure access management solutions across AWS environments.
• Implement least-privilege access models and governance frameworks.
• Automate cloud security and operational processes using AWS services and CLI.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using AWS CloudFormation.
• Develop and support AWS Lambda functions and Step Functions for workflow automation.
• Troubleshoot authentication, authorization, and access-related issues.
• Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure compliance with organizational security standards.
• Support CI/CD processes and deployment automation using Jenkins.
• Monitor AWS environments and recommend security improvements and remediation actions.

Required Skills

• Strong expertise in AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM).
• Hands-on experience with:
• AWS CloudFormation
• AWS Lambda
• AWS Step Functions
• AWS CLI
• Knowledge of AWS security best practices and governance.
• Experience creating and managing IAM roles, policies, and permission boundaries.
• Understanding of cloud security principles, authentication, and authorization models.
• Experience with Jenkins for automation and deployment pipelines.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS Organizations, Control Tower, or AWS SSO/IAM Identity Center.
• Knowledge of cloud compliance and security frameworks.
• Experience with scripting using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• AWS Security Specialty or AWS Solutions Architect certifications preferred.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to CI/CD environments.
• Experience supporting DevOps and cloud engineering teams.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools within AWS environments.
