Job Description

Administration Officer - Braintree District Council

12.75 PAYE / 16.33 Umbrella per hour

Braintree, Essex

Full-Time, Temporary

37 Hours Per Week

Closing Date: Tuesday 28 th July 2026

Essex County Council are delighted to be support Braintree District Council in recruiting 2 Administration Officers on a 6-month contract.

Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate will be required to work on-site, 5 days per week followed by hybrid working after a successful training period.

Please note that the successful candidate will be required to obtain a DBS.

The Opportunity:

To undertake full reviews of all Council Tax Support applications using the Civica Open Revenues system, in accordance with Braintree District Council's Council Tax Support Scheme.

To support customers in respect of enquiries generated by those reviews via email, telephone and face to face.

Role Accountabilities:

  • To undertake a review of current applications in our Council Tax Support caseload in accordance with the appropriate scheme.
  • To update the customer accounts using the Civica system, to incorporate any changes identified.
  • To use the DWP Searchlight system in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Local Authority Support Team and the Benefits Manager.
  • Ensure customer income and household details are updated in accordance with the review.
  • To ensure the reviews focus on higher-risk, higher-value, and older cases.
  • To manage customer enquiries by email, telephone and face to face.
