Whatyou'llbe doing

As a Visiting Medical Officer in Paediatrics, you will provide high-quality, contemporary paediatric care to infants, children and adolescents at Griffith Base Hospital. The role contributes to safe and effective patient outcomes and supports the delivery of a responsive and sustainable paediatric service.

  • Delivering evidence based paediatric clinical services across inpatient, outpatient and on call settings
  • Supporting junior medical officers and multidisciplinary staff through supervision, leadership and education
  • Participating in clinical governance, quality improvement and risk management activities
  • Contributing to continuity of care through effective communication and use of clinical information systems
  • Participating in the department's on call roster

  • Holds unconditional registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Paediatrician.
  • Demonstrated recent clinical experience in Paediatrics at the role delineation of the service.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
  • Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
  • Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
