Job Description
AI Communication Manager
About the Role
As AI adoption accelerates across the organization and the broader market, we are seeking an AI Communication Manager to keep employees informed, engaged, and equipped to participate meaningfully in the organization''s AI journey.
The AI Communication Manager will serve as the organization''s internal storyteller and external AI market scout—surfacing what teams are building internally, translating emerging AI developments into relevant business context, and creating communications that build awareness, curiosity, confidence, and adoption.
This role sits at the intersection of communications, AI literacy, employee engagement, and change management. This is not a technical AI development position. We are looking for a strong communicator who understands AI well enough to explain it accurately, identify meaningful developments in a rapidly evolving market, and turn complex information into compelling content that drives organizational awareness and action.
Key Responsibilities
Internal AI Storytelling
Identify, collect, and curate AI initiatives, pilots, tools, use cases, and success stories across business and technology teams.
Partner with AI, data science, engineering, product, and business teams to translate technical work into clear, compelling, non-technical narratives.
Develop and publish internal AI communications, including newsletters, intranet articles, Slack/Teams updates, presentations, videos, and town-hall content.
Create compelling stories that demonstrate how AI is delivering measurable business value and improving employee or customer experiences.
Build and maintain a centralized AI Showcase or internal AI hub highlighting active initiatives, use cases, capabilities, and business impact.
Establish repeatable processes for discovering and validating AI stories across the organization.
External AI Market Intelligence
Continuously monitor developments in AI, including new models, tools, platforms, regulations, competitors, partnerships, and industry trends.
Distill high-volume and often complex AI news into concise, relevant insights for employees and leadership.
Develop recurring content such as "AI in 5 Minutes," "AI Weekly," or other executive and employee-focused AI briefings.
Identify external AI tools, use cases, technologies, and practices that may be relevant for internal experimentation or adoption.
Partner with AI, Innovation, Product, and Technology teams to evaluate and communicate potentially relevant external developments.
Maintain a strong understanding of the broader AI ecosystem and emerging trends.
AI Awareness & Culture Building
Design and execute an enterprise AI awareness and engagement program.
Develop initiatives such as AI Spotlights, AI Fridays, lunch-and-learns, internal newsletters, learning sessions, and employee campaigns.
Organize AI-focused events, webinars, speaker sessions, demonstrations, and leadership forums.
Partner with Learning & Development and HR to incorporate AI awareness and literacy into onboarding and employee learning programs.
Develop content that helps employees understand both the opportunities and responsible-use considerations associated with AI.
Gather employee feedback, questions, and sentiment related to AI and use those insights to improve communication and engagement strategies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Serve as the communications bridge between AI/technical teams and the broader organization.
Ensure AI messaging is accurate, consistent, accessible, and free of unnecessary technical jargon.
Partner with Corporate Communications, HR, Marketing, Legal, Risk, AI Governance, and executive leadership to align messaging.
Support communications related to AI strategy, transformation initiatives, governance, responsible AI, and organizational priorities.
Develop relationships with AI champions and subject-matter experts across the organization.
Establish a network of contributors who can identify and amplify meaningful AI activity across the business.
Content & Channel Management
Own the AI communications content strategy, editorial calendar, channels, and publishing cadence.
Manage content across newsletters, intranet/SharePoint, Slack/Teams, town halls, presentations, video, and other internal channels.
Ensure communications align with corporate brand standards, organizational tone, AI governance policies, and responsible-use guidelines.
Develop executive-ready presentations, talking points, briefing materials, and communications.
Measure communication effectiveness through engagement, reach, sentiment, and adoption-related metrics.
Continuously refine content and channels based on audience behavior and feedback.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor''s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Business, Public Relations, or a related field.
4–8 years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, content strategy, employee engagement, change communications, or a similar role.
Demonstrated interest in and working knowledge of AI/ML concepts, generative AI, AI tools, and emerging AI market trends.
Ability to understand technical AI concepts and translate them into clear, engaging content for non-technical audiences.
Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and storytelling skills.
Experience developing newsletters, intranet content, executive communications, presentations, campaigns, or other internal communications.
Strong editorial judgment and ability to distinguish meaningful AI developments from market noise.
Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders, projects, deadlines, and communication channels.
Strong relationship-building skills with technical teams, business leaders, executives, and employees at all levels.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working alongside an AI, data science, digital transformation, innovation, or technology organization.
Familiarity with generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, or comparable platforms.
Understanding of major AI companies, foundation models, product launches, emerging AI capabilities, and industry trends.
Experience with Confluence, SharePoint, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Canva, or comparable collaboration and content platforms.
Experience with video production, editing, webinars, podcasts, or multimedia communications.
Experience designing employee learning, awareness, engagement, or change-management campaigns.
Familiarity with AI governance, Responsible AI, data privacy, cybersecurity, and ethical AI concepts.
Experience organizing enterprise events, executive forums, webinars, or speaker programs.
Change management or organizational transformation experience is a plus.
