Job Description

As an Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer at Honeywell, in Bournemouth, you will be responsible for creating product design changes and providing product design expertise to sustain and grow our Aerospace business and includes daily collaboration with staff distributed globally at different product design centres and factories. Honeywell: Honeywell Aerospace products and services are used on virtually every commercial, defense, and space aircraft. We build aircraft engines, cockpit and cabin electronics, wireless connectivity systems, mechanical components. Our hardware and software solutions help create more fuel-efficient aircraft, more direct and on-time flights and safer skies. Key responsibilities:

The Global Repair and Overhaul Engineering, (GROE), team is focused on improving supply chain performance by maintaining and improving designs for products currently in the manufacturing phase. The products are primarily commercial and military aircraft components.

  • Drive product design changes, modifications, upgrades, customer investigations, supplier investigations, obsolescence, and test system design changes.
  • Support product transitions and new repair integration to site and provide engineering request evaluations for non-conforming parts
  • Engage in Value creation projects to reduce manufacturing turnaround time and repair costs
  • Lead capital purchases initiatives
  • Provide estimates and statements of work for various engineering efforts and projects
  • Communicate directly with internal and external customers and suppliers about status on resolutions for problems such as supply chain delivery disruptions, no-fault-found situations, defect escapes, warranty review, and first-year-in-service failures Key skills and

qualifications:

  • Eligible to work in UK
  • Solid engineering experience aerospace or mechanical industry, preferably with a degree within this industry
  • Resides within an easy commute of Bournemouth airport
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to diverse engineering topics and audiences
