Job Description

HR Manager

Location: Colchester area

Salary: Circa 50-55k per annum

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Casanovas Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced HR Manager to join a growing and very well-established business in the Colchester area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on HR professional who wants to make a genuine impact and help shape the HR function. Working across a workforce of around 150 employees, you'll provide day-to-day HR support while also developing and improving people processes, policies and practices.

The Role

You'll act as a trusted HR partner to managers and employees, providing advice and support across the full employee lifecycle.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and advising on employee relations matters including disciplinaries, grievances, absence and performance.
  • Supporting and coaching line managers with people-related issues.
  • Supporting recruitment, onboarding and probation processes.
  • Reviewing and developing HR policies, procedures and processes.
  • Ensuring HR practices remain compliant with UK employment legislation.
  • Maintaining accurate employee records and HR documentation.
  • Supporting employee engagement, wellbeing, training and development initiatives.
  • Providing HR reports and updates to senior management.
  • Supporting payroll with HR-related queries.
  • Working with external HR/legal advisers on more complex matters.
  • Supporting wider HR projects and organisational change.

About You

We're looking for an experienced HR professional with:

  • CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience.
  • Vast generalist HR experience.
  • Strong employee relations experience.
  • Good knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and attention to detail.
  • Confidence dealing with sensitive and complex matters.
  • The ability to build strong relationships with managers and employees.
  • Experience in manufacturing/production and shift workers would be an advantage.
  • A proactive, practical approach and the ability to manage competing priorities.
