The Financial Controller owns Bearaby's accounting operations end to end: the close, the controls, and the accuracy of every number that rolls up to leadership. You sit between the strategic finance lead and the day-to-day accounting team, making sure the books are clean, GAAP-compliant, and delivered on time. This is a hands-on management role: you will both do the work and raise the standard of how it is done, working remotely in close collaboration with the rest of the team.

• Own and manage the full monthly, quarterly, and annual close (books closed by the 20th)
• Produce GAAP-compliant financial statements with accurate revenue and expense matching
• Oversee the general ledger, AP, AR, and inventory accounting and costing for e-commerce
• Lead account reconciliations, audit preparation, and liaison with external auditors and tax advisors
• Design, document, and enforce internal controls, accounting policies, and SOPs
• Manage, review, and develop the accounting team's work
• Deliver timely management reporting (MIS) and variance analysis to leadership
• Own sales tax/VAT filings and any multi-entity consolidation
• Maintain and continuously improve accounting systems (QuickBooks) and inventory tracking

• 7+ years of accounting experience, including 2+ years managing a close or a team
• CA or CPA strongly preferred
• Strong US GAAP expertise (mandatory)
• E-commerce / DTC accounting experience including inventory costing and GL (mandatory)
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and advanced Google Sheets/Excel
• Hands-on audit, reconciliation, and financial reporting experience
• MIS reporting experience
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently across US time zones

• Experience implementing or improving accounting systems and controls
• Multi-entity or multi-currency accounting experience
