About the Opportunity

CommTel is seeking an experienced Lead Engineer to join our team and support delivery of our specialist telecommunications and network infrastructure projects. This multi disciplinary, operational project requires strong technical leadership, systems integration capability, and the ability to coordinate diverse stakeholders, along with a commitment to safety, quality, and engineering excellence in a high performance, customer focused environment. Responsibilities

• Lead the design, review and approval of scalable, secure and maintainable technical architectures.
• Analyse customer requirements and develop technical solutions, proposals and tender inputs.
• Provide technical leadership, guidance and mentorship across engineering, integration and project teams.
• Oversee solution implementation, documentation, testing and quality assurance to meet project and customer standards.
• Collaborate with customers, internal teams, vendors and stakeholders while managing progress, risks and technical issues.

About you

You're a proactive, solutions focused and technically strong professional who thrives in a dynamic, project driven engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Telecommunications, or Electronics Engineering, with extensive experience in complex communications projects.
• 10+ years leading communications or infrastructure projects, including 7+ years in railway communications networks.
• Strong technical capability on some of the communications technologies including MPLS (IP and/or TP) networks, RF architectures, Microwave Radio, LTE/5G, Tetra, P.25, and backbone transmission networks.
• Proven experience developing and presenting network designs, documentation and testing procedures to industry standards.
• A self starter with excellent communication skills, able to lead teams, solve complex problems and manage multiple projects under pressure.
