Job Description

SQL, Python & Snowpark Development

  • Write expert-level SQL for complex transformations, data quality controls, performance tuning, and analytical data products.
  • Develop advanced Python and Snowpark components for data processing, orchestration, automation, testing, and operational tooling.
  • Create maintainable technical documentation, runbooks, data mappings, and knowledge-transfer materials.

Snowflake Cortex, AI & Advanced Capabilities

  • Evaluate and implement appropriate Snowflake Cortex AI capabilities, including governed use of large language model functions and related AI services.
  • Partner with architecture and analytics stakeholders to assess AI or machine-learning use cases, data readiness, security, and productionization requirements.
  • Stay current with Snowflake platform releases and recommend practical adoption of new capabilities based on business value, risk, and total cost.

Required Experience & Education

  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience developing enterprise solutions on cloud data platforms.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on Snowflake data engineering and platform development experience.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering complex, production-grade data pipelines and data transformation frameworks.
  • Expert-level SQL, including complex query development, performance tuning, data modeling, and troubleshooting.
  • Advanced Python development skills for production data engineering, automation, testing, and integration use cases.
  • Strong working knowledge of modern data engineering practices, orchestration, CI/CD, source control, automated testing, monitoring, and operational support.
  • Experience with Snowflake security, governance, role-based access control, data sharing, and performance or cost optimization.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver high-quality outcomes within a 6-to-9-month contract engagement.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SnowPro Core certification strongly preferred; SnowPro Advanced: Data Engineer or another relevant Snowflake certification is highly desirable.
  • Experience in healthcare, life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or another regulated data environment preferred.
  • Architecture and solution-design experience, including data modeling, design reviews, and technical decision documentation, preferred.
  • Experience with Snowflake Cortex AI and governed AI-enabled data solutions preferred.
  • Knowledge of machine-learning concepts, feature pipelines, model data preparation, MLOps, or model deployment patterns is a plus.
