Position Summary

  • The Business Operational Readiness Analyst – Underwriting is responsible for ensuring the underwriting organization is prepared to successfully adopt new business capabilities, technology platforms, process improvements, and operational changes.
  • This role serves as the central coordinator across business, operations, technology, risk, compliance, and support functions to drive readiness activities from planning through deployment and stabilization.
  • The role leads the development and execution of operational readiness plans, ensuring business processes, controls, training, testing, reporting, communications, and adoption activities are completed prior to various implementations.
  • The individual operates as a strategic partner to technology and underwriting leadership while remaining hands-on in execution and coordination.

 

Key Responsibilities

Operational Readiness Planning

  • Lead operational readiness efforts for underwriting transformation initiatives.
  • Develop readiness plans, milestones, dependencies, and success criteria.
  • Coordinate readiness activities across business, technology, risk, finance, and downstream stakeholders.
  • Facilitate go-live readiness assessments and deployment approvals.
  • Track readiness risks, issues, and mitigation plans.

 

Business Process & Operating Model Readiness

  • Support the assessment of impacts of new capabilities on underwriting processes and operations.
  • Coordinate development of future-state workflows, process documentation, and operating procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through standardization and automation.

 

Adoption & Change Readiness

  • Coordinate with change management teams on business adoption and onboarding strategies.
  • Partner with stakeholders to identify training and communication requirements.
  • Coordinate rollout activities and post-deployment support plans.
  • Measure adoption, utilization, and business readiness outcomes.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement and organizational alignment.

 

Testing & Production Readiness

  • Coordinate business participation in user acceptance testing, pilot testing, and parallel processing activities.
  • Validate operational impacts and business support requirements.
  • Facilitate readiness reviews and go/no-go decision forums.
  • Support defect prioritization and remediation planning.

 

Risk, Controls & Compliance

  • Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Finance teams to evaluate impacts to business controls.
  • Identify control changes resulting from process and technology modernization.
  • Support readiness activities related to SOX, audit, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure operational risks are identified, documented, and addressed.

 

Reporting & Governance

  • Develop readiness metrics, dashboards, and executive reporting.
  • Maintain traceability across requirements, process changes, controls, testing, training, and deployment activities.
  • Provide transparency into readiness status, business impacts, and adoption progress.
  • Present updates and recommendations to business and technology leadership.

 

Required Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience in operations, business transformation, change management, program delivery, or operational readiness.
  • Strong knowledge of multifamily or financial services processes, controls, and operational workflows.
  • Experience supporting large-scale business or technology transformation initiatives.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and executive presentation skills.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and complex dependencies.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting platform modernization, workflow automation, or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Knowledge of operational risk, governance, compliance, and SOX-related processes.
  • Experience with change management and business adoption methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery models and product-based organizations.

  • Successful deployment and adoption of underwriting initiatives.
  • Readiness activities completed on time and within established governance requirements.
  • Minimal operational disruption during implementations.
  • High stakeholder satisfaction and business engagement.
  • Improved adoption, productivity, and process efficiency outcomes.
