Corporate Accountant - Atlas Search

Our client, a leading financial services company, is seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to join their growing team. This role sits on a collaborative accounting team and plays a key part in month-end activities, accounts reconciliation, reporting, and supporting operational processes across the firm.

Responsibilities

1. Assist in the monthly close process, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet reviews.
2. Support accounts receivable and accounts payable processes for the Management Company.
3. Monitor and reconcile cash activity, ensuring alignment with general ledger and bank statements.
4. Produce month-end adjustments such as reclasses, accruals, and other financial reporting entries.
5. Coordinate with finance leadership to research unusual transactions and validate proposed journal entries.
6. Participate in process optimization initiatives, internal controls, and compliance activities (including SOX support).
7. Assist with internal and external audit requests, preparing supporting schedules and documentation.
8. Contribute to ongoing operational reporting and analysis to support management decision-making.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
2. 3-7 years of hands-on accounting experience, including month-end close and account reconciliations.
3. CPA designation is a plus.
4. Strong technical and Excel skills; experience with macros a plus.
5. Extremely detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
6. Strong communication skills and confidence interacting with colleagues across all levels.
