Job Description

HR Advisor
Location: Meriden, West Midlands
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 DOE
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Office-based

Pertemps are recruiting for an experienced HR Advisor to join a busy and fast-paced HR team based in Meriden.

This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys employee relations, thrives in a varied environment, and is confident managing multiple priorities at once. The role is heavily ER-focused, so we're looking for someone who can provide practical, commercially-minded HR advice while supporting managers through a wide range of employee relations matters.

We welcome applications from candidates who hold a CIPD qualification, as well as those who can demonstrate strong HR experience and are qualified through experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line HR advice and guidance to managers and employees across the business.
  • Manage a high volume of employee relations cases including: o Disciplinary o Grievance o Absence management o Performance and capability o Flexible working requests o Family-friendly matters
  • Support managers through investigations, hearings and consultations.
  • Prepare HR documentation including invitations, outcome letters and case correspondence.
  • Coach and support line managers in handling people matters effectively.
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures are applied fairly and consistently.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems.
  • Identify potential risks and provide practical solutions to support business needs.
  • Support wider HR projects and initiatives as required.

About You
We're looking for someone who is highly organised, resilient and able to manage a busy and demanding workload.
You'll be the type of person who enjoys "spinning multiple plates" and can confidently balance competing priorities without compromising on quality or service.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience within a generalist HR role.
  • Strong employee relations experience.
  • Good working knowledge of UK employment law.
  • Experience supporting managers with disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance cases.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Desirable

  • CIPD qualification (Level 3 or Level 5) or currently studying.
  • Experience within a multi-site environment.
  • Exposure to organisational change, redundancy or TUPE processes.
