Circa £115,000 Basic Salary, plus 20% bonus, equity, PMI, life, pension etc..

Most Software Engineering Manager roles are about maintaining what already exists. This one is different.

My client is a growing technology business developing advanced wireless communications technology. With several significant commercial opportunities on the horizon, the software engineering function is expected to grow rapidly over the next 12 months.

They're looking for someone who wants more than simply managing a team.

This will appeal to an engineering leader who enjoys building teams, shaping engineering culture, improving development practices and creating an environment where talented engineers can do their best work.

You'll work alongside experienced technical leaders across Software, FPGA, Systems and Algorithm Engineering, helping to guide the evolution of the software function as the business scales. There is genuine opportunity to influence engineering methodology, develop Team Leaders, improve ways of working and leave a lasting mark on the organisation.

This is closer to leading the software function within a growing technology company than it is to a traditional Software Engineering Manager position.

• Experience leading embedded software engineering teams.
• A track record of developing high-performing engineers and technical leaders.
• Experience improving software engineering processes, methodologies and development practices.
• The ability to influence technical direction across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• A passion for building engineering organisations capable of scaling with the business.

If you've previously operated as a Head of Software, Software Engineering Manager, Group Engineering Manager or have played a significant role in growing and transforming an engineering function within a technology business, I'd be very interested in speaking with you.
