REMEDI Electronic Commerce Group has been retained by our client to identify an experienced EDI Mapper with IBM Sterling Gentran Server experience to support a growing Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) environment.

This position offers the opportunity to become a member of a dedicated EDI team supporting a well-established organization in the consumer products industry. The successful candidate will help accelerate trading partner onboarding, support day-to-day EDI operations, and contribute to future integration initiatives as the organization continues to modernize its technology landscape.

The Challenge

Our client currently operates with a single EDI resource supporting a mature IBM Sterling Gentran environment. As the business continues to grow, new customer and vendor onboarding has increased, creating a need for an experienced EDI professional who can help expand capacity while providing operational redundancy.

This role will support existing production processes while helping onboard new trading partners, troubleshoot production issues, maintain EDI maps and documentation, and collaborate with business users across multiple departments.

The Work

  • Administer and support IBM Sterling Gentran Server 5.x environments
  • Coordinate onboarding of new EDI trading partners
  • Monitor daily EDI processing and resolve production issues
  • Troubleshoot mapping, translation, and communication errors
  • Support ANSI X12 document processing across multiple trading partners
  • Work closely with business users, customers, and vendors to resolve EDI-related issues
  • Maintain EDI documentation, implementation guides, and partner specifications
  • Assist with continuous process improvements and EDI best practices
  • Collaborate with IT leadership on future integration and modernization initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience supporting IBM Gentran Server for Windows 5.x (5.3  similar)
  • Strong understanding of ANSI X12 transaction processing
  • Experience onboarding trading partners
  • Experience supporting production EDI environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical users
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within a small IT team
