Title: AbInitio Administration

Location: Hartfort, CT (onsite)

Long Term Contract

Deep expertise in Ab Initio Administration, data warehousing, SQL, PL/SQL, ETL, and external scheduling tools. Collaborate with business and technology teams in a hybrid work model to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality data platforms that power analytics and core insurance operations.

Revised Responsibilities

  • Strong experience in Ab Initio Administration, data warehousing, SQL, PL/SQL, ETL, and external scheduling tools.
  • Design end-to-end data integration and warehousing solutions using Ab Initio components, PL/SQL, and SQL to deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable data pipelines that support analytical and operational reporting needs.
  • Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and data modelers to translate complex functional and non-functional requirements into optimized technical architectures focused on performance, resilience, and data quality.
  • Define standards for ETL patterns, error handling, metadata management, and data validation to ensure all data flows are consistent, auditable, and aligned with enterprise data governance expectations.
  • Guide the design of Ab Initio graphs, graph sets, and reusable components that maximize reusability, simplify maintenance, and reduce processing time across high-volume batch workloads.
  • Coordinate with external scheduler administrators to design reliable job streams, calendars, and dependency structures that ensure predictable execution and timely availability of downstream data assets.
  • Optimize SQL and PL/SQL code by tuning queries, indexes, and execution plans to improve throughput, reduce resource consumption, and support demanding service-level objectives.
  • Perform impact analysis for schema changes, upstream source modifications, and new data integration requirements to safeguard the stability and integrity of existing warehousing and reporting solutions.
  • Review implementation deliverables to ensure adherence to architecture guidelines, coding standards, security controls, and documentation expectations.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and database teams to size environments, plan capacity, and recommend configuration improvements supporting growth in data volume, user concurrency, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support production teams by analyzing recurring incidents, identifying root causes in ETL design or scheduling configurations, and recommending durable architectural improvements.
  • Document solution architectures, data flow diagrams, and technical decisions to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding.
  • Engage with stakeholders from the Property & Casualty Insurance domain to understand policy, claims, and billing data flows and design solutions that improve underwriting insights and risk analytics.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating new Ab Initio capabilities, data integration techniques, and automation opportunities that reduce manual effort and accelerate delivery.

Certifications Required

Preferred certifications include Ab Initio Professional Accreditation and cloud or database certifications such as Oracle Database, Snowflake Data Engineer, or other relevant data engineering and cloud platform certifications.
