Network Hardware Engineer

Job Description

• Hardware Installation: Rack and stack switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless equipment
• Cabling: Terminate copper and fiber cabling; label, test, and maintain cable infrastructure
• Basic Configuration: Apply templates and configure VLANs, ports, and firmware updates
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve Layer 1–2 issues; escalate complex problems as needed
• Inventory Management: Track hardware, modules, optics, and spare equipment
• Documentation: Maintain and update network diagrams, patch records, and change logs

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in network hardware or IT infrastructure
• Working knowledge of switches, routers, wireless access points, and firewalls
• Familiarity with VLANs, trunking, port security, and basic routing concepts
• Experience with fiber and copper cabling, testing tools, and labeling standards
• Ability to read rack diagrams and follow deployment instructions
• Preferred certifications: Microsoft Certification, CCNA, JNCIA, Network+
