Job Description

At Munro Footwear Group (MFG), we are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to shape the future of our enterprise data platform.

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will play a key role in designing, building, and optimizing scalable data solutions that power business intelligence, analytics, and data-driven decision making across the organization.

This is a hands on technical role where you will work closely with engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, high performance data platforms and pipelines.

Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Develop robust ETL/ELT processes that support enterprise reporting, analytics, and business intelligence.
  • Build and optimize semantic layers and data models for Power BI.
  • Partner with analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to translate data requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Champion data quality, governance, security, and best practices across our data ecosystem.
  • Apply modern software engineering practices including testing, monitoring, logging, and automation.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
  • Continuously improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of our Azure data platform.
Qualifications

You will be a technically strong Data Engineer who can solve complex data challenges and build scalable solutions.

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or software engineering with a data focus.
  • Proven hands on experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Microsoft SQL Server (essential).
  • Retail industry experience or exposure to common data models.
  • Experience delivering production grade data pipelines.
  • Proficient with Python notebooks, Spark based transformations, and ML pipelines.
  • Familiarity with Lakehouse architecture, Delta Lake, and event driven approaches.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience handling large scale, real time, or batch workloads.
