Sr Database Administrator

This role sits within a dynamic team focused on cloud database administration and performance optimization. The Sr Database Administrator will take ownership of the database platform, ensuring reliability, security, and performance across both on-premises and cloud environments. This position will play a key role in the strategic migration to Microsoft Fabric, collaborating closely with Azure infrastructure teams and participating in an on-call rotation for 24/7 support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of the database platform, ensuring reliability and performance across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Lead the strategic migration to Microsoft Fabric, implementing best practices for database management.
• Administer Azure database services, including Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, and Azure SQL databases.
• Perform performance tuning and optimization to enhance database efficiency and responsiveness.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and manage backup and recovery processes effectively.
• Collaborate with Azure infrastructure teams to address incidents and conduct root cause analysis.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor''s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of IT experience with at least 5+ years of dedicated, hands-on Azure database administration in enterprise environments.
• 5+ years of experience administering Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, and Azure SQL database administration.
• Proficiency in T-SQL and PowerShell for DBA automation.
