VP/GM – Business Development (AEC Engineering Services)

Location: Remote (USA) – Preference for candidates based in New York or Maryland. Travel required.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced VP/GM – Business Development to lead business growth across the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving new business acquisition, expanding key client relationships, developing market entry strategies, and building long-term partnerships across the U.S. and international markets.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Engineering Consulting, BIM, VDC, Digital Engineering, or Engineering Design Services, with a proven track record of generating multimillion-dollar revenue, leading high-performing business development teams, and selling offshore engineering services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic business development plans to expand market presence.

  • Drive new client acquisition and grow existing strategic accounts.

  • Build and maintain relationships with C-level executives, developers, contractors, engineering consultants, and infrastructure clients.

  • Identify new market opportunities and execute regional growth strategies.

  • Lead the complete sales lifecycle, from prospecting through contract negotiation and closure.

  • Promote Engineering Design, BIM, VDC, Digital Engineering, and related consulting services.

  • Collaborate with technical delivery teams to develop winning proposals and client solutions.

  • Mentor and lead a team of Business Development professionals, driving performance and revenue growth.

  • Manage sales forecasts, pipeline, account planning, and revenue targets.

  • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and networking forums.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor''s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or Project Management.

  • Minimum 10 years of Business Development or Sales experience within the AEC, Engineering Consulting, BIM, VDC, or Construction Services industry.

  • Demonstrated success in client acquisition, revenue generation, and closing large enterprise contracts.

  • Experience selling offshore engineering or consulting services.

  • Strong understanding of AEC workflows, BIM, VDC, Digital Engineering, and engineering design services.

  • Experience managing and mentoring teams of 10+ members.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience working with clients across the U.S.; exposure to European markets is a plus.

  • Valid authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Experience

  • Existing network within the Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Infrastructure sectors.

  • Experience working with engineering consulting firms or global design organizations.

  • Proven ability to build strategic partnerships and drive long-term business growth.

  • Cross-cultural business development experience with global clients.
