Grant Thornton Australia is a leading independently owned accounting, advisory and consulting firm. We are seeking a forward thinking Director to join our Cyber Resilience practice at a pivotal moment in the firm's growth.
About this roleThe role blends deep cybersecurity expertise with the emerging frontier of AI enabled professional services delivery. You will help clients solve complex security challenges while redefining how modern advisory work is delivered. You will win and lead client engagements, shape AI enabled delivery across the practice, and guide technical teams in translating emerging technologies into scalable, repeatable advisory services.
What You'll Do- Act as a senior point of contact, building long term client relationships and identifying opportunities to manage cyber threats and risks.
- Provide outcome focused recommendations that connect executive stakeholders with technical delivery teams, ensuring decisions are commercially relevant, risk informed, and practical.
- Drive market activation, client presentations and thought leadership.
- Define the roadmap for AI enabled delivery across cyber resilience offerings, including agentic workflows, automation and knowledge assets to improve quality, consistency and efficiency.
- Identify and shape opportunities to apply AI technologies such as agentic AI, knowledge engineering, RAG, intelligent automation and advanced analytics to enhance cyber resilience offerings and client outcomes.
- Collaborate with technical specialists to design and implement secure, scalable and maintainable solutions.
- Sponsor and guide the use of automation to streamline delivery, clarify requirements and align solutions to client outcomes.
- Contribute to internal platforms, accelerators and knowledge bases; mentor junior colleagues and foster a culture of innovation.
- 8-14 years of cybersecurity experience in professional services, consulting or senior in house advisory roles.
- Strong understanding of identity & access management, cloud security, endpoint protection, network security, threat intelligence and vulnerability management.
- Familiarity with NIST CSF, ISO 27001/27002, CIS Controls, MITRE ATT&CK and sector specific guidance.
- Experience with SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, threat intelligence, case management and response tooling.
- Understanding of regulatory landscapes such as GDPR, NIS2, DORA, PCI DSS and equivalents.
- Ability to identify where AI, automation and agentic workflows create value in cyber advisory delivery, assessing suitability, risks, controls and implementation pathways.
- Practical knowledge of LLM capabilities, limitations, orchestration concepts, document ingestion, vector stores, grounding and RAG patterns.
- Familiarity with responsible AI principles, prompt engineering best practices and LLM security considerations.
- Familiarity with enterprise security, identity, endpoint, cloud, data protection, workflow automation and modern cloud data platforms.
- Technical depth to shape solution requirements, review options, oversee implementation and make informed trade offs.
- Strong communication skills, proven client management, business development capability and experience mentoring and directing junior team members.
- Work at the intersection of cybersecurity and AI in a modern advisory role.
