Job Description

Drafter/Designer III | Poway, CA, United States | Hybrid The company is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, along with advanced high-resolution surveillance systems. They are looking for an experienced Drafter/Designer to join their Integrated Harness Design team, supporting the development of complex cable assemblies for all their platforms. This role offers the chance to work closely with engineers on cutting-edge technology and provide critical technical design solutions. The Role • Prepare working plans, detailed drawings, parts lists, and schematics based on engineering notes and sketches. • Verify own work by checking dimensions, performing calculations, and ensuring materials and quantities are correct. • Determine appropriate scaling, insert necessary lines, and prepare production detail drawings. • Ensure detail parts and assemblies can be manufactured and will fit or interface properly within specified tolerances. • Create or revise 3D CAD models and drawings as needed for ongoing projects. • Potentially direct and audit the work of other drafters and designers. What You'll Need • High school diploma or equivalent, with specialized training in engineering software applications and at least three years of relevant work experience. • Proven experience in advanced drafting techniques and proficiency with 3D CAD solid modeling. • Basic working knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment is essential. • Familiarity with industry practices and standards, along with strong mathematical skills including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. • Good oral and written communication skills for presenting technical information and collaborating with team members.
