Job Description

Threat Hunting & Detection Engineering Analyst

Location: UK Wide / Hybrid
Salary: Up to £61,000

A leading global technology and cybersecurity organisation is looking for a Threat Hunting & Detection Engineering Analyst to join their growing Cyber Defence team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex security engagements, helping organisations strengthen their threat detection capabilities through proactive hunting, detection engineering and continuous improvement.

Youll join a highly skilled SOC team, working alongside threat intelligence teams, security analysts and client stakeholders to design, develop and optimise detection content aligned to emerging threats.

The Role

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining threat detection capabilities, conducting proactive threat hunts and supporting clients in improving their security posture.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing detection logic aligned with frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK
  • Developing, testing and tuning security detection content
  • Conducting proactive threat hunts using telemetry, intelligence and security data
  • Identifying suspicious activity and potential threats missed by existing detections
  • Supporting detection playbooks, runbooks and SOC processes
  • Collaborating with SOC, threat intelligence and security engineering teams to improve detection strategies

What Were Looking For

  • Experience in threat hunting, detection engineering or SOC operations
  • Strong understanding of security monitoring and incident detection
  • Experience developing or tuning detection use cases
  • Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK framework
  • Familiarity with SIEM platforms and security tooling
  • Ability to analyse security data and communicate findings clearly
