Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Engineer to join a highly innovative engineering business that designs and manufactures specialist automated machinery for customers across the globe.

This is a varied, hands-on role within a growing organisation, offering the chance to work on complex engineering projects from concept through to installation and commissioning.

The Role

As a Project Engineer, you will be involved in the full lifecycle of bespoke machinery projects, including:

  • Designing special-purpose machinery and automation systems using SolidWorks
  • Managing bills of materials (BOMs), sourcing components and progressing orders
  • Coordinating machine builds, testing, commissioning and servicing activities
  • Supporting customers with technical problem-solving, both remotely and on-site
  • Liaising with suppliers and customers across the UK and internationally
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and business processes
  • Supporting the development of new equipment, products and engineering solutions
About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience using SolidWorks 3D CAD
  • At least 3 years' experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with special-purpose machinery, automation or bespoke equipment
  • Strong project coordination and problem-solving skills
  • Good commercial awareness and customer-facing communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • HND, Degree or equivalent qualification in an Engineering discipline
  • Full UK driving licence (preferred)
  • Ability and willingness to undertake occasional international travel

Experience or knowledge of Industry 4.0 technologies would be advantageous.
