Job Description

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s Degree in human resources, payroll or related field or four (4) years experience in payroll or a related field
  • Four (4) years professional experience in payroll processing with accounting responsibilities, compensation and benefits reporting
  • Experience using computer systems in a payroll environment
  • Experience in supervision of personnel

Position Goal:

To oversee the processing and balancing of all payroll related payments, deductions and or contributions; and assist with all payroll functions of Client

Performance Responsibilities:

* Coordinate payroll processes to ensure the timely and accurate payment of salaries for all employees

* Create, run and maintain system jobs and edits for record updates and payment postings

* Coordinate with banking agencies for proper processing of employee payroll files

* Create, verify and make necessary adjustments on state and federal regulatory reports.

* Assist in the training and directing of payroll staff

* Act as point of contact and maintain security for payroll end users.

* Assist in the development of payroll technical procedures and make recommendations for improving services.

* Supervise the preparation of periodic statements and reports; check reports for accuracy and appropriate posting to job records.

* Initiate and maintain payroll records in accordance with federal and state regulations.

* Communicate and confirm responsibilities of external agencies as they relate to VCS payroll processing.

* Verify and reconcile financial reporting to BENCOR Financial Services, Internal Revenue Service, other outside agencies, and internal departments, as required.

* Provide information and interpretation of payroll procedures as requested, verbally and in writing.

* Manage all necessary processing for the payroll department in the absence of the Director, Payroll.

* Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director, Payroll.
