Job Description

Job Title: Maintenance Engineer
Location: Kingston Upon Thames
Salary: Up to £37,500

The Role
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to join a maintenance team supporting a large educational environment.

Working across a multi-building site, you will deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs while helping ensure all facilities remain safe, compliant, and fully operational.

This is a varied role suited to an engineer with a core trade background in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical maintenance who is comfortable working across multiple disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across building services systems
  • Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently and safely
  • Support maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, heating, and electrical systems
  • Update maintenance tasks and records using CAFM systems
  • Work collaboratively with other engineers and contractors on-site
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety and statutory regulations
  • Provide a professional service to staff, visitors, and stakeholders
  • Participate in the on-call rota and support minor project works when required

About You

  • Experience working within commercial building maintenance or similar environments
  • Core trade qualification in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, or HVAC
  • Good all-round building services maintenance knowledge
  • Experience using CAFM/BMS systems (desirable)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a flexible approach to work
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
